Best Pet Tech Under $100 in Australia
Under $100 is where most pet tech sells and where the gap between a useful device and a gadget is widest. Six picks, with the thin review samples flagged.
Under $100 is where most pet tech actually sells, and it is also where the gap between a useful device and a gadget is widest. Everything on this page is something we already cover; what is new is the constraint, and it changes the ranking considerably.

Where the money is best spent
If you own one thing from this list, make it the nail grinder or the puzzle toy. Both are under $20, both solve a problem that exists every week, and neither depends on an app, a subscription or a power point. That is an unusual combination in this category.
If you are away all day, the feeder is the item that changes your animal's day rather than yours. At $99.99 the Frienhund sits right at the ceiling of this page.
What we would not rush, at this price, is a tracker. The Pawfit Lite is cheap hardware with a mandatory cellular plan, and the three-year cost is nothing like $80 — we set that out in what pet tech subscriptions really cost.
Read the review samples carefully
Two items here have thin evidence and it would be dishonest to present their averages as equivalent to the others.
The Pawfit Lite carries a 4.6 across 11 ratings. That is not a meaningful average; it is a handful of early buyers. We include it because it is genuinely the cheapest 4G tracker we have found in Australia, not because the rating tells you anything.
The oneisall fountain sits at 4.4 across 151 ratings — better, but still well short of settled.
By contrast the Treat Tumble (7,607), the VIWIK grinder (3,251) and the Frienhund feeder (2,580) have samples large enough to trust.
Individual notes
VIWIK 2-Speed Dog Nail Grinder — $18.99. Two speeds, rechargeable, and genuinely adequate for cats and small dogs. Owners of large dogs find it underpowered, which is the pattern behind its 4.1. Buy it for the animal you have — full comparison in best pet nail grinders.
Nina Ottosson Treat Tumble — $17.99. Difficulty scales with how full you load it, which is why it survives past the first week. Noisy on floorboards.
oneisall 2L Stainless Steel Cat Water Fountain — $43.99. Steel instead of plastic, which resists the biofilm that builds in scratched plastic bowls. See ceramic vs stainless steel fountains.
Furbo Mini Pet Camera — $59.00. Camera and audio only. No treat mechanism means nothing to jam — see best pet camera without a treat dispenser.
Pawfit Lite 4G GPS Dog Tracker — $80.00. Cheapest entry to live tracking. Tiny review sample, mandatory plan.
Frienhund 7L Automatic Cat Feeder — $99.99. Large hopper, solid sample. Dry food only — for wet, see automatic feeders that actually handle wet food.
FAQ
What is the single best buy here? The Treat Tumble, on cost per use.
Is $100 enough for a decent camera? For checking in, yes. For treat-tossing and 360 coverage, no.
Anything to avoid under $100? Self-cleaning litter boxes. Nothing at this price does that job safely.
